Come With-In
By Andrea Lingle
Dear Children,
Do what you love.
Work hard.
Try everything.
Change the world.
Be the light.
Pursue joy.
Dream big.
You are the future.
We are relying on you
To fix
This.
To think of something,
To change our world,
To stop the daemons of greed.
We were children once,
Told to seize the day,
Without consent.
Told we had the
Right (of) Way.
We were told we had inalienable rights.
But that which is taken is lost.
Demanded cannot be given.
Joy cannot be chased to ground.
Love is received
Work to include.
Try what you can.
Change who is seen.
Be in the twilight.
Pursue less.
Dream with-in.
Ripples and wide, moon rising high,
Hold the weary who cry
Torn by the seizure, lonely, unseen,
God beckons with-in.
Tide by season, cycling through,
Return, re-enter, re-new.
The in-ing of God. The come in and draw near.
Is a song sung only in chorus.
The dwelling of love, the spiraling way.
Come be with-in.
Come rest.
